It requires numerous safety items in order to ensure a safe performance. Here is a listing of some of our equipment.. Safety Equipment: Nomex Gloves – For handling hot wicks Chemical Gloves – For squeezing excess fuel from soaked wicks One Dry Hand Towel – For wiping excess fuel from hands First Aid Kit - With burn cream, aloe, and first aid bandages Fire Extinguisher – BC Fire Extinguisher, for extinguishing structural fires Two Damp Full Sized Towels – One For smothering lit wicks, and one for putting out person fires Fire Poi Equipment: Ball Chain - 14” long Chain – 18” long - 270lb Heavy Duty Quick Links - For attaching ball chain to wick Nylon 1" Two-Finger Straps - For holding onto the chains while dancing Fuel Related Equipment: Metal 1qa Sealed Tin – For the storage of wicks Metal 1ga Sealed Tin – For the soaking and storage of wicks Fuel Container – Plastic container for portable fuel storage during outdoor performances Note: Fuel is stored in it's original store container and is only poured into the 1ga tin for soaking.
